I really hate it when people judge something without looking into it themselves. Hetalia does never in any way or form make fun of historical tragedies, genocides etc. Also, making fun of stereotypes does not equal racism. Stop watering down the word, it has almost lost all meaning today. I wish all the Hetalia haters could point out which strips joke about murdering people etc, but for some weird reason they never deliver... Show me them, prove me wrong!! But for now people will continue to wank about Hetalia being on equal level with Mein Kampf, without having read it, just because it's the "cool" thing to do.

Japan "bullying" China. The US/UK revolutionary war.

Japan "bullying" China was only in strips about China's bootleg market.

The US/UK revolutionary war was actually one of Hetalia's serious strips, no dice there. And it wasn't making light of it either, it was a simple reflection piece of the character American besides the nation thing.

It's not reveling in them because they do poke fun of it, sometimes straight, sometimes not. Not to mention that they don't act like their national stereotypes half the time, mind you.

The whole issue with Shinatty-san is pretty sticky, I give you that although there is some cultural thing going on there.

The US/UK revolutionary war strip is one of my favorites. It was well made and very sad. If someone find that one offensive then there's something wrong with their head.
