I see all these people saying that here, but I don't think they realize that 12 isn't THAT young. If we were talking about 8 year olds I'd agree, if we were talking about 10 year olds, I might give you the benefit of the doubt, but I think 12 year olds could handle it.

I don't know about that. I watched Cowboy Bebop for the first time when I was about 14, but I recently rewatched the series and picked up on a LOT of things I had missed all those years ago. And I've been an honors student for years!

Besides, there's a reason why the movie got an R rating when the movie came over to the US.
