That's fair. Those sort of plot developments do tend to take up a significant amount of screen time, and if you don't vibe with it, it's valid to want to drop the story.

I've never been fooled by any female character being 'secretly' played as male in any of my fandom experiences.

This is a very valid secret, considering you hold such a bias on gender. Like I could get it if the character acted rationally different upon the reveal, but suddenly deciding against them just because you wanted them to be a certain gender is sexist as all hell. Dicks and clits don't define a person.
