I have never, NEVER I say, seen anyone complain about "mean, evil antis ;-;" to gain sympathy and attention. Nope, it just doesn't happen. Nope, no one ever starts to leave when the person stops talking about how much they hate antis, because anti hate was the only topic that some fandom people agreed on. Nope.

I've seen people fake anti-anons before to get more fandom attention, so I wouldn't put it past some people to organize a fake-anti witch-hunt on their own work to boost the content they make. Some people really will do anything to be noticed after all.

I mean, if anything stuff like Msccribe or similar is why I'm pretty sure fandom HASN'T changed much. All those videos that go into depth about what was going on in the Harry Potter and other fandoms at the time sounds pretty much exactly like what goes on now. With groups that were like "ew, child porn," groups that were like "ew everything," and groups that were like "if you think everything is ew, fuck you"
