What's the weather like where you are?

It is below freezing here in San Antonio. It is supposed to reach record levels of cold this weekend. And we're actually supposed to get some snow Sunday and Monday that actually is supposed to stick.

So we've got the heat cranked up and are stocked up with no intention of going anywhere (our roads are not set up for cold weather, and people here drive like maniacs).

A little cloudy with a chance of rain later tonight. It's rather warm for this time of year here and I worry it'll soon be outright hot.

So very cold in Minnesota. We aren't supposed to get over 0 deg. F until next Tuesday.

Brrrr. It is supposed to get pretty cold on Monday for us. It is supposed to be between 6 and 20 degrees. 30 and 12 on Sunday. Not looking forward to that. I don't remember it every being this cold here since I've lived here. Hope you can stay warm and safe inside.

Same here in Iowa, too. Last I saw, our temperature was -8 degrees F, and our wind chill was -29. Good time to just stay in and cozy up with blankets and watch some TV and whatnot.

Hasn't been over 20 in a week here, and looks like the coming week will be the same. I'm kind of sad because I'm here in Michigan and with all this cold, we don't even have that much snow. I like snow. :(

I like snow too. I figure, if it is going to be cold, it might as well snow. I actually miss living up north. But Texas is not prepared for cold, so everything ends up more difficult. And yet people still drive like nothing has changed because Texas drivers are awful, so there is no way I'm going out on the roads this weekend.

I hope you get some snow or something else exciting happens for you this weekend.

Thanks! And yes, that's basically my reasoning. Plus when it's THAT cold, you don't get the stuff that melts against your windshield and freezes there, so it doesn't take long to clean off the car. Just run a brush over it, no scraping... and it's absolutely beautiful on the trees.

Only problem is when there's so much that when the plows come through and dump it in the end of everyone's driveway. I have chronic health problems and no snowblower, so either I cause myself hours of agony trying to shovel it out, or risk getting stuck half in the road anytime I try to drive somewhere.

...But it's pretty, so I will deal with it. ;)

There's actually been so little precipitation of any kind that we've got a fire hazard warning going on. The ground is filled with ice but a fire outside could spread and become a hazard fast. I heard someone's been arrested for setting a fire outside that got so out of control a major road had to be closed

Cold and rainy, but not cold enough for me. I miss having seasons. I wish the arctic air would make a beeline for my area and linger for 3-5 days.

welcome to the la nina polar vortex. sucks, dunnit? I've been to San Antonio in the dead of summer, and I'd kill for some 80 at night with dewpoints in the 60s right about now.

the upper midwest has been in this cold snap with single digits during the day and negative temps every night, plus daily windchill warnings, for 10 days so far and it's going to last at least another week before we see 20s again. it sucks, I hate it, it sucks a lot.

Cold as fuck. Low teens, wind chill in the negative numbers, over night temps in the single digits, and we're supposed to get a Snowpocalypse this weekend.

We've had snow and freezing drizzle/mist/fog on and off for a week, and today's few hours of sunshine and blue sky were there first in over a week. Crazy days!

I'm in Scotland and it's been 0 celsius at most the past few days. It snowed heavily a few days ago, hasn't rained or warmed up since, and now the snow has compacted and a frozen layer of water has formed on the surface of said snow. You can't really exercise outside in most places unless you waddle like a penguin because, despite being in the most populous city in Scotland, apparently treating the pavements or indeed the ROADS is way down the list of spending priorities for our Council.

We don't get snow this bad this often but it's not like freezing temperatures in Scotland in February are ever a surprise...

I'm just being a bit grumpy because I have no room for a treadmill in my flat and don't want to risk injury outdoors so haven't been able to go for a run recently.

57°F and partly cloudy in San Jose, CA. So nice we went out to eat this evening, outdoor seating on a heated patio at Left Bank in Santana Row (big outdoor shopping center/mall). It was the first time we've gone out since November and it was N I C E. I'm basically a homebody and practically a shut-in during normal times but holy God I do miss going places sometimes.

High was 72°F, partly sunny and a little breezy. This is the reason people winter here. Though my dad, who lives in the northern part of the state (and at a high elevation) is getting rain and soon snow, so.

Very cold but usually sunny, so there's that.
