I find some of the others attractive, too, but I do thing Shang is superior, mainly in that he just has a lot more actual personality and character than most of the others.

The Beast has personality and character, but well, his personality and character is pretty shitty for most of the movie. You don't really get enough time to get to know "reformed" Beast, so he still feels like a bit of a blank slate at the end.

OP He's also competent. Most of the rest are either princes.or just plain charming. Shang's the only one who can actually get things done.
