Look, OP... Nothing to say about the quality of how grief is portrayed by actors (it really depends on how good the actor is, I suppose), but, huh... People DO react in different ways to grief Irl.

I lost a dear friend to cancer a couple of years ago. When I received the call from a mutual friend informing me of their passing I started bawling immediately and I pretty much didn't stop the entire day. I kept crying intermittently for weeks, after.

Not everyone goes numb and through the famous 5 stages of grief when this shit happens. People are wired differently. Just... Keep this in mind, not for fictional work, but for real life. People can and will react differently to you to different things.
