Ohh, I get this sometimes when books mention anime. Sometimes the references make sense, but other times, it’s like the author wanted to make the character nerdy, so they have them going on a tangent about some random anime and it doesn’t feel organic to the plot. It’s a weird feeling.

I’ve been wanting to check out the Big Finish audios for Doctor Who, particularly the ones for the Sixth Doctor since he was done so dirty onscreen, but I just haven’t gotten around to buying any ‘cause what if I regret buying it or something? IDK I kinda wish I could rent them just to check them out.

if you have spotify, they have a lot of the earlier ones on there. It takes a bit for them to fully get a handle on sound editing, but Six's early BF stuff is also some of his best.

Ooh, I didn’t know they had them on Spotify. Thanks, nonny! Gonna go check them out now.

Oddly enough I'm fine when older anime like Gundam, Dragonball or Sailor Moon are mentioned - or in general older fan-ish things. Maybe it's cause these things have already 100% managed to survive the test of time so feel more Idk universal?

I just prefer them to make bands/books/shows up tbh.
