The whole cultural appropriation thing aside (which has been discussed enough) on the actual point in this secret: I agree, those hairstyles are nice. You get them with LotR elves a lot as well, or sometimes on shows with vikings.its also often very flattering - best example is on The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty where the main characters switch to this hairstyle to go undercover and it looks so much better than the regular wigs they wear.
