123. :wibbles: Even if there wasn't anything beyond a deep friendship between those two... yeah, that scene made me feel ridiculously fuzzy.

127. Wow, Storm Hawks; it's been a while.

129. Same reason Harry/Hermione was so prominent in the Potter fandom. Fans see what they want to see.

Yeah. Normally, I don't think that way either. And in the grand scheme of things, I'm painfully aware my little bit o' 'special' is not important or permanent. But my fanfic habit gives me happiness, and gives others happiness, and it's something that I can do right now, no strings attached. I don't have to grow up to 'be somebody' to enjoy my life =)

I was a Ron/Hermione shipper from book 2 on, but to be fair, I understood the H/H position. I think even JKR conceded a few months ago that she understood why H/H shippers would have felt misled. So in that case, it wasn't really a "fans see what they want to" situation. Harry and Hermione had a consistently strong bond, it just didn't turn out to be romantic.

Thing is, I never shipped either side and I could see where they were going with it. Looking back, I still can't see anything in the books that would lead fans to think otherwise. The movies are a different story, though.
