I'm not into that but everyone's making such a big deal about it (not surprising, it's the SPN fandom).

I really don't see people talking about this openly. There were a few anonymous posts on the meme that I saw, but that's it, so yeah, I think it's pretty easy to ignore.
It's also not that hard to de-friend someone and get friends who share your interests.

The thing is, most kink is rooted in various tastes. That's the whole point of it being a kink, dude. I mean, if you write bdsm porn it's because it turns you on ... you may or may not partake in it, depending on various things, but it's still something you find erotic.

People who wrote pedo porn like this do it because it turns them on. Which means, yes, they desire to have sex with children. They might not do it, but they fantasize about it. I believe in freedom of speech and so I do not think it should be outlawed ... but I also don't think it should be excused. People who are turned on by depictions of sex with children are mentally disturbed and I hope if anyone for whom this is true is reading this, that they seek therapy.

There's a fine line between erotica involving children and sex scenes involving children (ie, backstory in which a child is raped, scenes which aren't described in explicit and erotic terms, etc), by the way, but most of the time you can distinguish it.

I disagree. People can find guro hot and not want to get stabbed through the stomach and/or do it to someone else. I find guy on guy action hot but it doesn't mean I want to get a sex change and fuck a guy.

There IS a line between reality and fantasy, people. I'm not going to claim to be an expert in the area, but such things as ageplay do exist in the BDSM community - involving one partner roleplaying a child and such. Chan and shota is in the same bag - often, people who read it are visualizing themselves as the child. It's about power and roles, not literally wanting to fuck an eight-year-old.

That said, I go by the 'no harm done, do what you will' rule. Even if there were theoretically an actual pedophile writing SPN kiddie porn (which I seriously doubt there is), I figure that's a hell of a better way for him to get his kicks than taking advantage of real children. :/
