That becomes the issue then. How do you resolve not saying "You're fucked up" to somebody while saying in more general terms that there are mental issues that need to be addressed?

It's exactly why I can't say anything outright specific. I made a post in my journal and my flist all had different opinions, and you end up second-guessing yourself, but...I'll never think that it's alright to think that way about children. Unless you're a child yourself, you should maybe think about talking to someone about what's behind your proclivities towards kiddie porn.

*shrugs* We're all fucked up, I think, but I also think most people are smart enough to know that something like that just isn't right, and that they should probably seek some help. Otherwise, anonymous memes wouldn't be necessary, right? I've got kinks that I don't want to air, but they're not illegal.

Well, if you didn't want to air your kinks at all, then anonymous kink memes wouldn't be necessary, I think.

I don't know. I'm still working out how I feel about these kinds of things. I think that some things are just not okay to fetishize, period, and children is definitely on that list. I do think that there should be some kind of resistence when these things pop up, but "OMG you're a horrible person" doesn't exactly help things anymore than "Wow this is such a romantic fanfic!" does.

No, it doesn't, but the fact that I've seen more people enabling and applaudingthan disgust is horrifying, to me. I'd rather see people saying that it's not ok than that they're just fine with it, ya know? Makes me feel better about having my kids out there in the world. Sometimes.

Yeah. I wish people would step up and say "Okay, that isn't cool." I think that's okay, you're not calling them a vile waste of carbon but you're clearly disapproving. Still, doing something like that is much more taboo in fandom than child porn.

Do you know that they also made a comm for it??? It's like really??? I look at a name I thought I *knew* or a "friend of a friend" and I'm like W.T.F?! I don't understand the tolerance for Child Porn, I really don't. I may have been shocked/disgusted that it was in the anon kink meme, but I was also shocked/disgusted that the mods left it in there. The fact that so many people are all "live and let live" on a subject like this really makes me go WTF?!
