I'd watch this too. I love those first two movies.

I would've liked to see a Universal Monsters series without Tom Cruise, though...

Comment but not secret OP here--me too, just not based on a shared universe with the Tom Cruise one, even if he wasn't in the others, because even minus Cruise it was a shit movie.

I LOVE those two films so 10/10 would watch but also...I'm glad they're their own thing and didn't get tainted by a lesser franchise or multiverse? If that makes sense.

Haha, I just love how we're all tacitly agreeing to pretend like the third movie didn't happen. Though I guess if that wasn't enough to taint the first two, even a lesser multiverse probably would've been okay. But ooh... if they could've pulled off that same action/adventure with humor and fun vibe for other monsters, I would've been all over that.

Opps at me ignoring the third film haha. I actually didn't mind it too much but it was missing a lot about the first two and I would probably rather it not exist. But the Tom Cruise Mummy film is infinitely worse so I'll take the third original any day.

If someone said they were reuniting the original cast and doing an Egypt theme again (though not necessarily rehashing Imhotep) my inner early-mid teens self would be all over it.

You and me both!

(Anonymous) 2021-02-19 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
TIL there's a Tom Cruise mummy movie. Huh.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-19 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
All Tom Cruise movies should be recast with Emily Blunt and she should have to do that pushup thing from Edge of Tomorrow in all of them

Imo

NAYRT but I am here for this.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-20 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for turning my comment into a secret, OP!

(Also I misspelled Fraser oops.)

(Anonymous) 2021-02-20 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
Wasn't it the Tom Cruise movies that offered that exact thing for you? But since they didn't hold up to certain standards, it tanked? And now you want another one, which will inevitably tank as well, most likely for the exact same reasons you hated the Cruise movies??

(Anonymous) 2021-02-20 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
The Tom Cruise movie was in no way, shape, form, or fashion based off the Fraser movies. It was completely separate, both in continuity and in general vibe and atmosphere.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-21 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
For one, the Fraser movies had dialogue and bgm to go along with the sound effects
