It's not so much about Jack/Ianto and their 'true love', it's about Rhys and his honestly true love for Gwen. I can't bear the thought of him being left for Jack. Jack's a great guy, but he's not right for Gwen. He doesn't need her, he just likes being around her. Bu Rhys... he loves her. He needs her, but at the same time, he'll do anything for her, even if it includes getting himself involved in things he's terrified of. And I seriously believe that it's love for Rhys that's why more people don't like Jack/Gwen.

Yup. I admit it, I do ship Jack/Ianto and I'm not a fan of Jack/Gwen, but the reason I don't ship Jack/Gwen is because I just can't see it working. Yes, I can see a lot of strong friendship. I love seeing Jack+Gwen friendship stuff! But Gwen loves Rhys, even if she does also love Jack in some way, and Rhys loves Gwen. The spin-off books makes Gwen's love for Rhys abundantly clear - even if she does have a thing for Jack, she CHOSE RHYS.

Too right, too. Rhys is made of awesome and lovely and he and PC Andy should have their own spin-off ^_^

You don't think there's any broad-based support for Jack/Gwen? Really?

Jack is not a "great guy." Jack is a bastard. He's a hero, but he's also a bastard. He gave up on Gwen when he saw the ring. For now.

Assuming real Jack hasn't been completely podded by RTD's need for a Mary Sue, there's still something to come.
