That's only one view. And the most pessimistic, for a Jack/Ianto shipper. Also, the most damning of Jack's character. With such casual disregard for the fact that he can find more than one person attractive/be in love with more than one person at the same time. See the Doctor and Rose for proof.

That's true. I hadn't meant it as a definite thing, though, just as a possibility. But yeah, you're right. Especially about being able to be in love with more than one person.

Jack loves many people, but #1 is the Doctor and at the moment Ianto is in the position of being something Jack can have, as opposed to what he really wants, even if he only wants it because he can't have it.

Timing is everything. (No engagement ring, no date.)
