To me they are different because Monica and Chandler were never genuinely mean to each other, at least in the parts of Friends I saw (I stopped watching about midway through). Then again, these days I prefer the Trio together to any pairing. Every pairing has its weaknesses. They just work better all together.

But yes the ship wars were stupid. People take shipping way too personally. There is no right or wrong way to ship. And if people interpret differently than you, so what? Doesn't mean they are wrong. This is fiction.

I have this silly habit of looking up the ages of celebs just to see which ones are my age or around my age. Why is that silly? I always look at it as one thing we have in common (even though that clearly applies to non-famous folks) and makes me feel closer to them in some way. But in reality, I will never cross paths with these people, let alone end up being friends with them.

(I'm not bothered by that fact, I'm just annoyed the habit exists. Maybe it's a relic from my days of maladaptive daydreaming.)

Oh wow, I'd never thought of this but I completely agree. They're not identical dynamics but they're very similar, and yeah, I love Chandler/Monica. I think they're great together, and good for each other. I've never shipped Ron/Hermione, per se. Like, I'm not interested in reading Ron/Hermione fanfic. But I generally prefer when the Drarry fics I read keep Hermione and Ron together. Whenever the author splits them up, it just feels so forced to me. They really seem like they're It for each other.

I don't care if it has an epic storyline, great characters, innovative plot, I don't care...

I refuse to watch One Piece because I'm so repulsed by how the artist draws women, especially in later seasons.
