12. I know how you feel. There's nothing wrong with large cosplayers, as long as they do a good job and attempt characters closer to their body types. I applaud you for trying your best and anyone who makes fun of you is most likely retarded.

1. Instead of the word "often," I would use "occasionally." It's true that there are some amazing fanfiction authors out there who totally have the ability to overshadow the original series. They are few, though.

5. Er. Not the prettiest girl in fandom anymore...? Were you ever? (Maybe I'm misunderstanding your secret, but this sounds somewhat conceited.)

8. Teachers are people too! :D

[identity profile] subversive.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Totally agree, especially in the case of Harry Potter. >> Most of why I love those books is because there's so much good fiction out there-- well, there's also a ton of very, very, very BAD fanfiction, but it all balances out... somehow.

9. .... I actually never paid any attention to his shoes and now I am and OH GOD WHAT. WHY DOES HE HAVE... WHAT. D: CONFUSED. He's still awesome, but... XD Thank you for pointing that out 'cause otherwise I probably never would have noticed.

11. I haven't either. I FEEL LIKE A HORRIBLE PERSON. I only barely started it before stopping because I had like 3978234972365 Discworld books to finish and-- well, yeah. I got the damn thing months ago, too. Wtf. I need Letters to Beatrice too, just on general principle. Damn, I'm a dork. XD;

7. Personally, I feel the exact opposite. If someone tells me they don't like a character but tells me she loved my art and story, then obviously, that has GOT to be a sign I'm doing something right. I'd give an arm and leg for this kind of feedback. .______.

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
WTH CASE XDDD

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
And just picture the outrage as she bitches about to her galpals later. >> "So then when he FINALLY dragged his sorry ass over there--"

[identity profile] kurachu.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
9. SAME HERE!!! JIJRIORE GO US.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-18 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
7. I've gotten that before (well--the 'I hate this pairing, BUT' thing). My favorite feedback for a piece of art ever, though, is and will always be 'Wow. I'm not *gay*, BUT I still found that really attractive'. (from a guy, on a piece of explicit m/m pr0n. Only context in the world where 'YEAH, BABY--I MAKE STRAIGHT MEN GO GAY' could possibly be something a straight girl would say with pride. XD)

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I even wore that miniskirt that shouldn't count as more than a -belt-, but whatever. Isn't he the rudest rapist you've ever heard of, I mean REALLY. Ugh. JERK.

[identity profile] littleguardian.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think your English is to blame here; I got the same impression. I think it's a great compliment if I've done something to make someone enjoy a character they dislike. So long as they don't go on to deliberately imply something like "you have bad taste."

[identity profile] byewonderland.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
ManFaye was both amusing and disturbing. XD

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
...

You know, I was reading about people who actually stayed out at late hours hoping to get raped in my psych class.

And they admit to wanting 'rape' not even sex, 'cause they have self-esteem problems.

I don't know either.

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't that the best feeling ever? I've gotten comments like that on my art and it makes me smile. *dies*

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...Bwuh? That's seriously messed up. x___x

[identity profile] infringe.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)

You can be the prettiest GIRL. :'D

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It was something along the lines of 'people wont even pay to have sex with them, at least if a rapist comes along and rapes them they'll have some illusion of feeling wanted'

It's kinda sad. ._.

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
6. :D Yay! Glad to see you have LW there too. :D

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That is sad. .__.

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)

5. ... wow. No offense, but if that's you in the pictures you're really not that attractive. You look pretty generic. I know a lot of gorgeous people in fandom, so I assure you ... you're not the prettiest. Probably not even close to being the prettiest. How vain. x_x

7. Yeah, while I don't really care either way these days there was a time when people would be all, 'Your art is gorgeous, but I'd like it better if you paired a with c instead of a with b. Lol!' You know ... I've been the kind to appreciate art for what it is. If someone draws something I don't like but it's still pretty I'm going to appreciate their art. Artists aren't suppose to cater to everyone's whims.

12. As long as you cosplay well and stick to characters that will flatter you body type, I'd like to think people wouldn't do that. Most overweight cosplayers who get bashed as dressing as characters like Yuna.

3. I kind of feel like this could have been written about me. *sadface* I never meant for it to come across that way.
karel: (ky; demon days)

Also 12: You're doing it for fun, right? Then it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks! But I do know where you're coming from. While I don't cosplay (would love to, but there aren't very many cons in the Vegas area and I can't afford to travel very far), I know that if I did I'd be scared that someone would say I "WAS DOIN IT WRONG. >O" Good luck with it, though. And kudos for knowing your limits. ♥

[identity profile] techno-beat.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
1. LOL DITTO. Sometimes I just like the characters and not the plot of a series. XD

2. Haha, I know what you mean. But still, I also think you don't need a needlessly long app either. I used to be too nice to turn down anyone, so I'd always leave the wimpy small apps to the other mods to deal with. XD

5. LOL I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. I'm like that with gaming too. I'm so very conceited and very much able to admit it. ♥

12. Aww. ): I've never cosplayed before, but I do sort of know what you feel like due to other stuffz.
