3. ...You didn't already think that? *dies* I definitely have some fanart to show you if I can find it again.

6. There's a whole category for that on ff.net!

3. But he is sexy. ): When he rips people's skin apart. But maybe that stems from my love of psychopaths.

5. ... I'm tempted to add sparkles to that too.

[03] I started watching that movie with a friend, but about half-way through I begged her to turn it off. That movie scared the shit out of me and I don't care if I'm a big wuss 'cause of it. How the heck is that guy sexy to begin with anyway? Okay, wait, nevermind. My list of sexy crushes are basically just as bad so NVM. XD;;;;

[12] I have a lot of respect for you; you put your heart and energy into making a costume that you know works with your body and because of that you're just awesome like that. As long as you know there are people who have complimented you and wnat your photos then you're definitely doing it right. :D

[identity profile] niwakaame.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
8. Oh you! You're glorious,gosh!
Now,if you'd gotten that person hooked on Pokémon!

9. HAHAHAHAH. I'd never seen the shoes. hey! is tha ta ring sporting hte colours of the brazilian flag?

[identity profile] shahrizai.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Hell yes, that's happened to me. rr1963's Soldier of Spira is still better than the damn game.

12. I feel the same way. I refuse to become FatFaye, the cousin of ManFaye. Last year I got a good group cosplay because of cartoony characters that were sort of like plump chibis, so I could get away with cosplaying a girl. My biggest fear is this year the only choice I have is Tomoyo from Cardcaptor Sakura. I want to choose one of her in-episode outfits. I might not be noticed without my Sakura and Li, but I get to avoid the whole 'fat chick in school sailor uniform' thing.

3. Not sexy at all. He scares the hell out of me.

[identity profile] cresselia.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
7. UGH I HATE THAT TOO. When I get those, I honestly think that I should be flattered to some degree because they like it in spite of their hatred for the subject, but gah ~_~ It's so annoying. Does anyone even care if you hate the character/pairing or not?

12. Me too ._. I only do costumes that I know I can pull off. I'm not that big, but I know I wouldn't be able to pull off like, a Sailor Scout or something. But I still sometimes wonder if I'm on like, cosplayfucks or something >> *pets*

2. I'm a lazy RP mod myself, but I hate short apply -_- You're totally right on this point, more players over quality is just dumb.

5. The prettiest girl in fandom? Whoa, are you REALLY so superbious you think you ARE the prettiest girl in fandom? I know several girl, in fandom, and I can assure you, they're hot, and if I was a lesbian, I probaly would hit them. Assuming you're the "prettiest girl in fandom" is arrogant, expecially because it's not like all girls in fandom are "fat yaoi girls". And the fact you don't want to gain weight because you want to remain "the prettiest girl in fandom" isn't, no offence, the smartest thing to do.
Sorry if I'll offend anyone with this comment, doesn't mean to, I just would like to be honest, and this is just my honest opinion.

7. When I comment on a fanart with a chara *I HATE*, I don't avoid saying "well, I hate the chara, but damn, your work is really good". And I think I shouldn't. To me, the fact that an author made me like something I usually hate is a very, very good thing, and I find it right to say that to people, because personally, I would be proud of it.
Beside, I don't think that it isn't respectful, nor it is bashing. It wouldn't be respectful if I actually leaved a comment like "this chara suck, and your art suck".
Though everyone has their own point of view... this is just mine :)

12. Keep cosplaying, don't give a damn about idiots >:D

8. That is all sorts of awesome. XD; I would feel like a hero, too.
12. All the power to you, dude.

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
2. Ditto. :\ Though I haven't been in one like that in a while.

3. I think most people are only joking when they say that. XD I mean, I know I am.

9. Those are some pretty hideous shoes. *dies*

11. I never read the last 3 or 4.

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
7.) Just as bad as the kinda comments I get. "Dunno who the characters are, but great art!"

Dudes! How do you know my rendering is good if you don't know who the [BLEEPING] characters are?!

They might just like your technique. There's a guy that I started liking because of his art for the Naruto fandom, but I love all of his art, even for fandoms I don't know because it's Just That Good.

12. I know how you feel. There's nothing wrong with large cosplayers, as long as they do a good job and attempt characters closer to their body types. I applaud you for trying your best and anyone who makes fun of you is most likely retarded.

[identity profile] kokamo.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Instead of the word "often," I would use "occasionally." It's true that there are some amazing fanfiction authors out there who totally have the ability to overshadow the original series. They are few, though.

5. Er. Not the prettiest girl in fandom anymore...? Were you ever? (Maybe I'm misunderstanding your secret, but this sounds somewhat conceited.)

8. Teachers are people too! :D

(Anonymous) 2007-03-19 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
That's why you don't know who I am; it sounds ridiculously conceited and I'm not anywhere near that self-absorbed.

[identity profile] subversive.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Totally agree, especially in the case of Harry Potter. >> Most of why I love those books is because there's so much good fiction out there-- well, there's also a ton of very, very, very BAD fanfiction, but it all balances out... somehow.

9. .... I actually never paid any attention to his shoes and now I am and OH GOD WHAT. WHY DOES HE HAVE... WHAT. D: CONFUSED. He's still awesome, but... XD Thank you for pointing that out 'cause otherwise I probably never would have noticed.

11. I haven't either. I FEEL LIKE A HORRIBLE PERSON. I only barely started it before stopping because I had like 3978234972365 Discworld books to finish and-- well, yeah. I got the damn thing months ago, too. Wtf. I need Letters to Beatrice too, just on general principle. Damn, I'm a dork. XD;

[identity profile] insanepurin.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
7. Personally, I feel the exact opposite. If someone tells me they don't like a character but tells me she loved my art and story, then obviously, that has GOT to be a sign I'm doing something right. I'd give an arm and leg for this kind of feedback. .______.

[identity profile] kurachu.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
9. SAME HERE!!! JIJRIORE GO US.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-18 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
7. I've gotten that before (well--the 'I hate this pairing, BUT' thing). My favorite feedback for a piece of art ever, though, is and will always be 'Wow. I'm not *gay*, BUT I still found that really attractive'. (from a guy, on a piece of explicit m/m pr0n. Only context in the world where 'YEAH, BABY--I MAKE STRAIGHT MEN GO GAY' could possibly be something a straight girl would say with pride. XD)

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't that the best feeling ever? I've gotten comments like that on my art and it makes me smile. *dies*

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
6. :D Yay! Glad to see you have LW there too. :D

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)

5. ... wow. No offense, but if that's you in the pictures you're really not that attractive. You look pretty generic. I know a lot of gorgeous people in fandom, so I assure you ... you're not the prettiest. Probably not even close to being the prettiest. How vain. x_x

7. Yeah, while I don't really care either way these days there was a time when people would be all, 'Your art is gorgeous, but I'd like it better if you paired a with c instead of a with b. Lol!' You know ... I've been the kind to appreciate art for what it is. If someone draws something I don't like but it's still pretty I'm going to appreciate their art. Artists aren't suppose to cater to everyone's whims.

12. As long as you cosplay well and stick to characters that will flatter you body type, I'd like to think people wouldn't do that. Most overweight cosplayers who get bashed as dressing as characters like Yuna.

[personal profile] karel 2007-03-18 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
3. I kind of feel like this could have been written about me. *sadface* I never meant for it to come across that way.
karel: (ky; demon days)

[personal profile] karel 2007-03-18 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Also 12: You're doing it for fun, right? Then it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks! But I do know where you're coming from. While I don't cosplay (would love to, but there aren't very many cons in the Vegas area and I can't afford to travel very far), I know that if I did I'd be scared that someone would say I "WAS DOIN IT WRONG. >O" Good luck with it, though. And kudos for knowing your limits. ♥

[identity profile] techno-beat.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
1. LOL DITTO. Sometimes I just like the characters and not the plot of a series. XD

2. Haha, I know what you mean. But still, I also think you don't need a needlessly long app either. I used to be too nice to turn down anyone, so I'd always leave the wimpy small apps to the other mods to deal with. XD

5. LOL I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. I'm like that with gaming too. I'm so very conceited and very much able to admit it. ♥

12. Aww. ): I've never cosplayed before, but I do sort of know what you feel like due to other stuffz.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-19 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
See, I'm not conceited at ALL, which is why I've never told anyone this before this secret.

[identity profile] stormbringer986.livejournal.com 2007-03-19 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
9. I hate the shoes too. He's my favorite character and I still think they ruin the whole design.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-19 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
12. As a member of CosplayFucks and since we are apparently a generic mass of people who all have the same thoughts therefore I am 100% qualified to speak for everyone, really...
We laugh at fat cosplayers who try to pull off skinny characters or revealing costumes. Or if they have a shitty costume, but no one is safe if they do that.
From your secret, you sound like you're in the clear to me. :)

I can't speak for 4chan, though. But a good rule of thumb is to never listen to 4chan.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-19 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. <3 That really means a lot to hear.
