...didn't see this earlier, but couldn't you just say that for any drama that's based off an anime or a manga? I mean, it's all people dressing up as fictional characters. Why only musicals?

I'm wondering the same thing -- and why even limit it to Japanese stuff? Does Wicked count (regardless of your feelings on its adaptation from the source material)? Lord of the Rings? Are we talking quality not being up to par the bit that's "creeping out" the OP?

Ha, I forgot about those. But isn't it that way for anything that's an on screen/stage adaption of something else?

I mean, I know this person that said she didn't wanna watch "those cosplayers" when I had Burimyu on, but the Hana Kimi live action was on her TV. What's the difference?

You know, that's a very good point.

I mean, does the OP realize the difference between cosplayers and these musical actors is that these guy are paid professional actors who study their material long and hard and are held to a higher standard than amateurs (and I mean amateurs as in people doing cosplay for fun or enjoying the source material)? It's hardly comparable.

As far as I'm aware he basically said that he'd moved on from TeniMyu, felt he'd grown beyond it, and basically IMPLIED that he was better than it. Not sure how much this may have been taken out of context, but yeah, he came across as a bit of a douche, especially when all the other Hyotei actors made it back at least once.

Oh, woah. I guess maybe it was better in context, but it definitely sounds pretty bad out of it. ~~Better than it? What's better than a bunch of people dancing around singing about tennis? XD~~

And I loved Date so much. T_T

Also, ~~Japanese~~ fangirls? Not exactly the most sane or forgiving of creatures. I don't know what was actually said, but I wouldn't be all that surprised if it actually wasn't as egotistical as that. But Chinese Whispers is a dangerous game for idols...

I love Date as Ohtori. I loved his interaction with Kenken on and off stage. And then he went away and didn't come back, and his mini-album was kinda lame. I have a short attention span when the shiny isn't right in front of me XD;;;;

He and KenKen were great together, especially backstage. Yeah, me too. My attention span is pretty much nonexsistent, unless I can find stuff easily online, which Date is pretty hard to do for. ^^"
