Really? I thought Vincent and Cid had some fairly nice in-game interaction. It's not one of the Big Important Relationships of the game, but it was nice. Though I guess a lot of their dialogue isn't compulsory.

I probably just sucked at the game =_=;; Honestly, a better example would be the Kakashi/Iruka ship, pre filler year, because that one came out of left field for me. They honestly only spoke once.

*Tries to remember if Cid and Vincent had any conversations in the original game, aside from the "infamous" Let's go to our rooms - line. Fails*

Not being sarcastic, just...genuinely wondering. Did they actually say anything more to each other in the original game? Been a while since I've played the game...

It's been a while since I gave it a spin, but I remember Vincent being amused by Cid's train driving skillz in that whole giant materia sequence. Can't remember what they say to each other, but I thought it was kind of cute at the time. :3

It's mostly during the part of the game where Cid takes over from Cloud - so if you actually make Cid go and talk to Vincent whenever you can on the Highwind bridge, and also have Vincent in your team, they have more interaction.

IIRC Vincent calls Cid, 'chief' which amused me, and I swear he said at one point, "don't expect anything else from me except fighting by your side"...or something similar. That one was from talking to him on the Highwind.

They're still obviously not best friends or anything, but you know.

It's probably more their personalities, like how Vincent/Yuffie is so inexplicably popular.

Well, in Dirge of Cerberus, they had apparently become drinking buddies or something, so I guess they got on better terms with each other :)
