144 I used to be that way with Joy Division. I bought one of their albums in high school and had to sell it because it made me feel so horrible every time I listened to it. It wasn't until I was 21 or 22 that I could even listen to them.
150 LOL, if people commenting on your fandom "destroyed it," then it wouldn't be much of a fandom to begin with.
151 I think I saw you posting on /a/. Big deal, I don't have every album by a Japanese band that's extremely obscure pretty much everywhere outside of Japan, and has existed for years. I knew who eastern youth was in 2000 way before anyone in the US outside of Los Angeles had heard of them. I could look down on you for either not knowing about them, or not knowing about them before they did their split EP with Cursive (who sucks, by the way).
tl;dr I could beat you at your music elitist game, but I don't look down on people for not knowing good bands exist
