It's set in the Victorian era The main character is called Leo (ftm) and he's an assistant coroner, a woman he was in love with turns up on the coroners table and Leo becomes determined to track down her killer.

That sounds overblown and like it would be about the same level.as try too hard fic. Not interested.

To be fair, the plot of the necromancer book sounds like fanfic.

True that. It was the TV series that got me into MXDS. I only read the book to fill in my knowledge because, as seems true to every fandom, the fic by the book fans was so much better than that by the tv fans.

I happen to like BL as a genre though. I wouldn't read about trans characters in pretty much any packaging.

NAYT
Why wouldn't you read about trans characters?

Body issues. It just fucks with my head, especially if it's a romantic story that involves sex scenes. That's all down to my own personal physical issues though.

That sounds like a perfectly fun romp. The ftm protagonist in the Victorian era might add an interesting layer. I’m always up for a nice mystery, I might actually pick that up.
