I mean, they did have a love confession. You're entitled to not like it, but they DID have a love confession.

What's even the point of listing off every ship you like? And aren't you basically propping up the original secret to begin with, especially going out of your way to list Velvet/Eleanor?

I mean, presumably the "I love you" was platonic from Velvet's side. It was shipteasing for sure, but this series loves to have its cake and eat it too. The only reason they got to say "I love you" to each other at all was because they weren't like the other canon-yet-not-really main character pairs (e.g. Luke and Tear): this time there's enough working in favor of a platonic reading that anyone who doesn't ship it probably wouldn't be put off by the "I love you," and enough working in favor of a romantic one that anyone who does ship it would be happy.
