I love Alfie Solomons. And some of it is definitely my love of Tom Hardy. But I also have a thing for Jewish gangster characters.

Especially now, it feels like a dangerous form of representation, but in private, I like the fact that Jewish characters get to be tough and violent, not just secretly cunning.

Hard same (well, I haven't seen Hoodlum, but in principle).

I'm so sick of all Jewish characters being either 1) intellectual but neurotic, 2) Israeli soldiers, 3) tragic victim, or 4) flat-out caricatures like goblins or Ferengi or whatever. So I actually think it's good representation b/c we get to be bad guys but not in a way that's a stereotype.

Also Alfie Solomons just straight up rules.

As a Jewish woman who likes Tom Hardy and Tim Roth, I like this secret! And I cannot believe Tim Roth made it into a secret, especially with one of his lesser-known roles! :D

Ah, there are at least two of us!

I have a huge thing for Tim Roth and literally watched Hoodlum just for him. As usual, I still loved him in it, despite thinking it was not a very good movie.

Tim Roth is an excellant actor. Lie To Me was a great show.

I've never watched any of these, but I would like to note that there was a real Jewish gangster group in the early 20th century. They were called the Purple Gang and they were the prohibition-era terror of Detroit. It's possible that one of these media pieces depicts them, I don't know, but if you hadn't heard of them before, you might find them relevant to your interests

One thing I truly miss about not being able to stream, is watching the latter seasons of Peaky Blinders.

I know, I could get it on DVD/Bluray, but...
