SA - to be fair, I genuinely loved doing my PhD, it went pretty much as smooth as they can (which can’t be said for everyone) and I knew from the get go that it was more an extension of my time at uni that a career starter, I had no inclination to be an academic. I’m a year out and occasionally go back to check on ‘academic Twitter’ and it’s that Wow I Don’t Respect Literally Any Of You meme. It’s a tough and to use an overused term toxic as hell environment, good on you for getting out while the getting was good!!

Yeah I follow a few academics on Twitter and some of the stuff the women are very public about going through is an eye opener on top of the things I already experienced. My brain was not in the place to handle all that when I left academia.

God, lots of my professors in my Master's program keep suggesting that I go for a PhD and I see where they're coming from, but I just don't think my mental health can handle it.
