I kind of maybe sorta believe in the paranormal, but I'm totally convinced that those shows are fake. It's TV; whatever they think is good entertainment, they can get.

That said, I've always wondered how they film those shows. The people are always "OMG I'M ALONE IT'S SO SCARY!" but... aren't they being followed by a camera crew? It'd be kind of hard to forget the presence of at least two other people tailing behind you all the time.

I dunno, have you watched Ghost Hunters? I've heard the "it's for TV so you can tell it's faked!" argument a lot, but you'd think in that case that Ghost Hunters would be acting more like every other ~omg spoooooks~ show out there, instead of making an active effort to find normal explanations for "paranormal" stuff and succeeding a good chunk of the time. Even when some of them have personal experiences, they try to think about it rationally and don't include it with the evidence. Also, there's been a few episodes where people have been fucking with them (on the "haunted ship" where someone was faking the blankets moving, and there was an episode with one hotel where the owner or staff or someone actually faked a ton of stuff) and TAPS has gotten really super pissed-off about it when they find out. Which they do rather quickly. That's kind of cool.

Also, I don't think they've ever pulled the "I'M ALONE IT'S SO SCARY" thing... and the cameraman has had "akfhakjf" moments too. XD But when you're sticking your head up into the attic and hear footsteps, you're gonna fall off the ladder whether or not there's a cameraman at the bottom of it.

IDK, I mostly can't write that one off as being faked just by the way they go about it. The fact that they've very rarely said "we think this place is haunted" and have actually told many people "it's faulty wiring :|" or "you have a gas leak :|" make me a little more inclined to believe them than I am to believe... well, shows like Most Haunted. XD

I am a bit weirded out with TAPS's thing about crawling into holes, I gotta say. Whenever there is a hole in the wall or in the ground or whatever, at least two of them are like GOTTA GET ME SOME O' THAT and that just seems way too enthusiastic for me. :|

In "Most Haunted", they're carrying the cameras themselves often. For instance, in the Gettysburg live special, they left that one woman out alone in the woods, and I got scared a crazy redneck was going to attack her, ha ha. She was fine.
