buffy for me is bigger than the controversy around whedon; as my first foray into internet fandom, a big part of my life growing up, hell i've been to at least one wedding where whedon was explicitly thanked for his part in creating the show because of the people it brought together

so the news about carpenter going public with how he was a shit to her twenty years ago (news to anybody who wasn't in the fandom at the time, because everybody who was knew already) isn't going to make me cancel the show
