Angelus is incontrovertibly worse than Spike (and he almost certainly raped Dru), but I don't know why we're pretending Spike was a good person to even his vampire girlfriends. He was horrible to drusilla (wanting to torture her is an overreaction to her breaking up with him) and h o r r i b l e to harmony and horrible to buffy (which would have been mutual self-loathing if he didn't stalk her every time she wanted to stop). And by horrible I mean abusive. They're both misogynists, it's just that Angelus hates all women and is violent to every single one and unsouled Spike hates women but the ones he puts on a misogynist pedestal he will focus his violent urges outward "for" them until inevitably they step down and he turns his urges toward them. Angelus is a spoiled frat bro and Spike is a nice guy and Angel is an emo nice guy. That's the only difference to me.
