And Angel, whenever he does stuff like that as Angelus, gets to claim "it wasn't me!"

I guess what bothered me about the rape plotline is that the vcampires were already often used as a metaphor for things like rape. The show was about using mythology and supernatural stuff to discuss real world horrors, they didn't need to get heavy handed with actual real world horror.
