There was one point in my life where I watched it basically every day, I think because I'd just got in from work and it was easy to have on in the background.

Your secret is basically why I stopped watching it. It got boring and not even trying to find the pointless answers interested me anymore.

I'm pretty sure the major demographic for this show is the lonely elderly.

I'm glad the beeb decided to give Richard his own show, House of Games is far superior to Pointless and as a bonus he talks to the contestants like a normal human being.
Alexander 'friends call me Xander' Armstrong really lays it on thick and it's gotten incredibly tiring.

Also I'm forever salty that Armstrong and Miller isn't a thing anymore, some of the skits they had were hilarious.

Yeah, House of Games has a much better quiz to banter ratio (though even House of Games has a lot of "filler" - oh yes, let's chat about the prizes with the obligatory joke about how most of them aren't any good, including the trophy, and then insist that the one on the losing streak could still win, while we rib the winner for daring to win a game, and ask players for their "strategy", blah, blah, blah). House of Games feels much more comfortable - the players look like they're having fun, Richard looks like he's genuinely enjoying the conversations/banter - however silly/formulaic they may be.

Armstrong and Miller was so good!

...'Kill them'. XD

Kill them.
The divorced dad.
The 'if you're not going to buy anything, fuck off' boutique owner'.
The rude, old timey singing duo.
The man who keeps finding his wife sleeping with the other man and he always falls for the dumb excuses.

So much good content.

The best part of the 'kill them' gag was never knowing it was going to be that skit.

The record producer version and the pope one still have me rolling.

There is a reason this show is a go-to of mine for when I can't sleep. There's zero tension and the babble is very soothing background noise.
