Here in Australia in the 80's the show of Ramona (Sarah Polley played her) aired here in the afternoons on weekdays, I started reading the Ramona books because of it (they were the first 'chapter' books I got into, I was about 11 and was a big bookworm by that age, reading BabySitters Club, Sweet Valley, Sweet Dreams and assorted young adult books). Also remember reading Beverly's young adult novel Fifteen. I had no idea she was that old, she's lived a good life :)
