107 I love Sokka/Suki; I wish that people didn't just say they loved it but also actually wrote for it, but all the cool kids shun it unfortunately; the anti-canon kids hate it because it's canon, and the canon kids don't care about it because they were all Sokka/Toph, and it's too bad.

120 ITA. I really like het, but I'll only ship it for closed canons. The ship wars really turn me off. All canon predictions turn me off—it turns fandom into winners and losers, and I don't find that fun at all.

Really? Most of my friends who ship Zutara adore Suki/Sokka. I wouldn't know about fic, because I'm not really a fandom person, though. ^^; Still, I feel that they were really interesting and well-written and just in general wonderful and well-done. Toph/Sokka bothers me, outside of Toph's one-sided crush.

I'm not bashing Toph/Sokka; you know, whatever people want to ship is cool. But after that huge fandom war—and I knew mostly Maiko people—I thought that when Sokka/Suki became canon people would write it, or it would become legitimate in some way, but sadly, it just isn't important enough for people to create work about. But the people who were so snobby about the other canon ships decided that Sokka/Suki didn't count or something, I guess.

I love Sokka/Suki. I have a few fan pics in the works, but I am just not motivated to write them unfortunately. After Katara and Aang, I like Sokka and Suki the best.

This! And it kind of baffles me because I never, ever got the impression that Sokka/Toph was presented as a romantic relationship in canon. Toph's crush seemed like just a small part of a much bigger friendship.

Yeah, I mean, I think Toph/Sokka is perfectly fine; I'm certainly not here to bash anyone's ship. But unfortunately even though it became canon, the cool snobby canon kids turned up their noses at it. It didn't get to join the Maiko-Kataang club of approved ships.
