/squint Is this based on the novel by Priest? Because if so, this seems to be common with her stuff. I know a lot of people love her novels but I always found them kind of anticlimactic in general even though I like the characters. (I only read some of her BL works though.)

But the whole "the way healing a character from a mear fatal desease/injury" being anticlimactic is exactly the same in Faraway Wanderers imo (and with a kinda annoying dose of deus ex machina-ism).

I'm not familiar with the novel or the author, I only watched the show, sorry!

Huh, for me it was a winner right out of the gate. The only part that was confusing/messy to me was the non-cultivator world politics. I never quite understood that. But since it wasn't particularly important in the end, it didn't really diminish my enjoyment.

I loved the humor and almost all of the characters. I loved how bisexual/queer it all was.

I gave up on it after episode 25. The story was too slow for me, the plot wasn't really showing me where it was supposed to be going, and the two actors that I love from other dramas (Wang Yibo and Zhao Liying) had no chemistry at all.
