One of my former best friends LIVED for these games and I was just... so terrible at them. I punched people in the face instead of talking to them, got chased by a wolf for miles and miles, got in a fight and shoot-out with the guards. All in one hour-long session. But the books you can read and the music are STELLAR, NEXT LEVEL, CHEF'S KISS~

I'm a hardcore Elder Scrolls fan, though I haven't gone near ESO because I hate multiplayer. Jeremy Soule is one of my favourite composers. His ES scores bring me endless nostalgia and joy. I love how he takes musical themes and reinvents them from Morrowind through Oblivion all the way to Skyrim and the DLCs. I listen to Skyrim Atmospheres in the bath and holy hell, it's transcendental. Especially if it's raining or snowing outside.

Oblivion and Skyrim are both really great games, pretty high in my favorites and the soundtrack is one of the reasons! That said, I also don't really bother going deep into the lore, just what is given to me by the game at the moment.

Of the Elder Scroll games, Skyrim is the only one I've played. And I don't do the online version.

We have Morrowind and Oblivian, but I've never played them.

Even these many years later, I am still enjoying Skyrim, because I ignore the main storylines and generally do my own thing, exploring the fuck out of the map. Not supposed to go up the mountain that way? Watch me mountain goat it.

That's one of the reasons I will never be able to love Dragon Age as much as Elder Scrolls - You've made it impossible to climb this mountain except for up this single track?

(Yes I know one's open world, and the other is officially not, but the fucking Storm Coast drives me insane)

I will keep this in mind in the event I ever get around to playing Dragon Age.

Playing Dragon Age now (starting at the beginning) and it is fun, has a good plotline and the music is okkaaayyyy...but it is NOT ES. ES has damned good storylines, an open world (with the ability to say 'hang the damned storylines!'), good characters all around (side and main), massive hours of fun and the music is top notch. I love good music and I have to say, ES has hands down some of the best soundtracks of any game - Skyrim being up at the very top there.
