I find this whole thing disturbing as hell. My Immortal is funny because it's either a genuine or pastiche on that-embarrassing-fic that lots of us wrote in our teens, complete with Mary Sue, character assassination, spelling mistakes and friend drama. I find this determination to hunt the author down really fucking disturbing, especially that it seems to be mostly guys eager to 'expose' the author and rip them to shreds. There's something weirdly reminiscent of men controlling women in this scenario.
