106) I share your pain. I've been in fandom for ten years and that's happened to me in every fucking fandom I've been in. Every. Single. One. I realized long ago that I am not the fandom police and I can't just tell them to go away, so that's helped me let things go. I hope you can too.

It's not even a matter of fandom police, and I'm sorry everyone thinks this about crack pairings in general. I have a handful that I love.

What I don't love is the three or four people who follow me into each new fandom and shove the most outrageous crack pairing they can find in my face, then treat me like I'm stupid for not seeing it.

Hmm, I think we've crossed wires a bit. I'm not saying that you should realize you're acting like the fandom police. I'm saying that realizing those actions in myself helped me get over those feelings of frustration in dealing with the jerks who follow me into fandom after fandom.

I'm also saying that I hope that someday you can...I dunno, let the frustration go as well? Because it seems to me that you're so busy being mad at people that you're losing your enjoyment of what drew you to the fandom in the first place. The jerks will leave the fandom eventually, but if you let them get to you so much, so will you and the cycle will begin anew.

I wouldn't say it's ruining my enjoyment, at least of the new fandom. Like anyone else, I come here to let off steam. (the old fandom, now that I think about it, had a lot more flaws than some obnoxious friends, and it was time I moved on anyway, but I digress...)

You know what it's like? It's like when you're at a sports game, and you're having a grand old time with your friends, but there's just that ONE annoying person behind you who keeps kicking your seat intermittently. Except the person kicking your seat is your friend. If that makes sense!
