104. It is possible to be happier in Japan but you need to be realistic about Japanese culture and lifestyles. Otaku culture = fandom. Otaku culture ! = Japanese culture. You need to learn the language, you need to learn something about the modern culture, warts and all, you need to spend some time there. I know people who have gone there to live and loved it. I was almost one of them. I regret nothing (not even the stoner ex from Nagoya who cheated on me and his two other girlfriends and thought he was a badass, or the period when I spent so much time hanging out with my friends who worked in hostess bars that I almost got sucked into it myself, or getting dumped on New Year's Eve at Shibuya 109...) but if I had it to do over again I'd be way more philosophical about it all.

129. Believe it or not, I don't care if you take me seriously or not. I liked him in the things I've seen him in. That's all.

132. You'd be surprised how common this is. It's also not unusual for people of colour to have fantasies about slavery. This is not my kink, but I figure it's one way of dealing with the issues, as valid as any other as long as you don't force it on anyone else.
