I'm kind of disgusted at the amount of hate you're getting for it. Not gonna lie. God forbid you have a differing opinion.

I'm still wondering how everyone I know came about it, because one day my f-list just exploded and it hasn't. Stopped. Since.

It's inevitable in this comm to get hate for something like that, isn't it? I think it's kind of funny, but you're right. OH NOES, I DIDN'T LIKE IT. It's probably not worth even posting a secret about in the eyes of so many people, but whatever.

I admit to not having seen the movie. But I've heard the whole soundtrack and I don't like it. Would it be better with the visual? Who knows. But my guess is that it wouldn't. And anyway, if people would stop declaring it to be THE ABSOLUTE BEST THING SINCE ROCKY OMG!!!!11ONE then I might feel differently. Different strokes, and all that. I just want to stop hearing about it.

It's just - I don't even know. I read some of the comments, and I was just like, "Because it's that serious, you guys. Someone doesn't like your favorite movie. It's really okay."

See, I gave it a chance because everyone on my f-list wouldn't stop OMGGUSHING over it. And then I got sick of it (this was when the 7-track thing was out). And then I gave it another chance and listened to the whole soundtrack. So I'll admit to liking the music for the most part. But the movie, I was just like, "Really. That's it?" (For the record - it totally tried too hard and the best part was Bill Moseley's line, "SOMEONE'S GONNA HANG IF I DON'T GET MY COFFEE. I WILL SHOOT YOU IN THE FACE.")

ALSO YEAH CAN WE NOT HAVE ROCKY COMPARISONS BECAUSE SERIOUSLY. It bothers me.

Yeah, I mean, even I was surprised by the viciousness. Raped with an ax, that's special, isn't it? I know this community is full of really mean people, but good LORD.

I didn't hate the music. I'm just...mostly indifferent to it. I don't think it's beautiful and amazing and important. I think it's another show. Not all shows are created equal.

The Rocky comparisons have really pushed my buttons like nothing else. HOW IS IT A COMPARABLE THING?!

That's the one that got me. I was just like, "Really." And then I got angry over it, and I know it's the Internet and everything, but yeah. Let's be douchebags to each other because of anonymity! YEAH! :D

I think the lyrics suck. I just like the melodies and whatnot, but I just get embarrassed for myself if I sing along.

I agree with you. Some of the songs are catchy - even I'll admit that. But it's the tunes, not the words, that I think I remember. The words are...kind of juvenile a lot of the time, imo.

Because all cult movie musicals are totally comparable, you guys. I WOULD SAY STOP WITH THE SHADOWCASTS TOO but you know what, I'll let them have their fun. I won't like it, but you know what. Whatever.

Oh, the shadow casts. I don't understand what makes this so awesome that it needed shadow casts. And also, the people who participate in those are rabid and they kind of scare me away from any small interest I may have ever had. I don't begrudge them their fun. Hey, if that's your thing, go for it! But...I don't profess to understand it a bit.

Honestly, what makes Rocky so awesome it needs a shadow cast? What makes ANYTHING so awesome it needs a shadow cast?

I agree some of the fandom is too rabid at times - but there are those of us who think Repo is awesome and have a lot of fun in the fandom and have a lot of fun with the meet-ups/shadow casts/etc.

I honestly don't care who didn't like the movie and wouldn't shove Repo on anyone (because that'd annoy them more than anything), but (movie you did like) is not more deserving of fandom/shadow cast/etc than (movie you didn't like).

Unless you just don't like shadow casts in general, in which case ignore that.

I don't understand shadow casts anyway. I think they're a way to attract more rabid fans than necessary. I mean, people have tons and tons of fun with them, so whatever, but no - I don't get them for Rocky, either.

I'm not necessarily against them. I just fail to see the allure.

I generally subscribe to the idea that shoving any fandom on anyone is a really quick way to get them to not like it - which is exactly what happened to me with Repo.
