Nowhere in that secret does it say the OP doesn't ship other ships, it just says they like J/I.

She also says she wishes she didn't because of the batshit craziness associated with the ship. The other secret struck me as apropos.

What I take the first secret to be saying is that it's possible to fangirl J/I without being completely batshit/claiming it's "TEH ONE AND ONLY", despite fandom's general belief to the contrary. Something I completely agree with. The batshit folks may be loud, but that's true of any situation.

I ship Jack with practically everyone, and whilst Jack/Ianto is my favourite pairing, it isn't the only one. Hell Ianto/Gwen is my second favourite pairing.

I wrote that secret because I'm sick and tired of all J/I shippers being lumped into one group. That of the batshit crazy. Not everyone who ships J/I thinks they are "TEH ONE AND ONLY" or are in "TWU LOVE" and we don't all hate on Gwen or Jack/Gwen. Man I hate ship wars.

But you've got issues. You like wave Rhys around as the all-purpose argument against it and claim lack of onscreen attraction or chemistry. :)

I don't like it very much, that's my personal opinion. And, no, Rhys is not my "all purpose argument". He's one of the reasons I can't ship it, I love him too much. The other reason? I can't really see the chemistry in their interaction. It all feels forced to me.

I don't hate on Gwen and I don't mind that people ship J/G (hell, I've read a few good J/G fics myself), but I personally can't really see the chemistry on screen. *shrugs*

You claim not to try to convince anyone, but you keep arguing your points and you hate to late anyone else have the last word.

I assume you see no chemistry even in the shooting lesson scene and the ring-finding scenes? I see none in the TTLM kiss and certainly none in the hand-job scene.

Hi, 165 OP here - the irony is, I made that secret for you. :) So I'm glad you like it and agree with it.

So let's leave the shippers and the characters alone, stop squabbling, and revel in our mutual enjoyment of the show and love for one Captain Jack Harkness. Sorted.
