Not everyone who doesn't fit in "needs help." Yeah, Japan's not going to be an all-accepting community for anyone who likes the stuff from there, and people like that need to find a way to cope with what they have and participate in the country they're in... but you're not making them feel any more at home in America by treating them like they all have mental problems. It's not just Japanophiles who fantasize about being accepted, you know.
