My friends and I were seriously into Ranma back in the mid/late 90s, and even back then we avoided the English dub when possible. :P Even by the standards in those days it was... lackluster.

Wow this takes me back. I remember getting some of the movies as a part of a sample boxset of different anime series/movies/ova in the 2000s so I've only ever seen it with the english dub.

Ooh, a Ranma 1/2 secret! I used to get fansubbed VHS tapes from friends back in the day and didn’t watch the dub until years later. It’s really not the best English dub IMO.

Oh man, Ranma is one of my favorite series! IMO the latin dub did such an amazing job I still find it a bit weird to hear it in rnglish. English was... something else. I still have my VHS of the cursed gem and Christmas OVAs. Good shit.

If I've seen a series subbed, I usually can't stand the dubbed version, no matter how good it is.

I preferred Sarah Strange to Richard Cox for boy!Ranma and stopped watching the series altogether at the fifth season because of the switch. Also, back in my day the dub tapes were cheaper and on a middle schooler's allowance I could afford them more than the subtitled ones lol
