I thought Anne of Cleves was the cutest of Henry’s wives when we studied them in school. I also wondered if it was weird to marry a woman who had the same name as a previous wife.

My aunt is on her third 'Bill.' And although the current one goes by a different name, the first two husbands (both deceased) were called Bill as well as being christened it. I always thought it odd growing up!

DA

Your story about your aunt reminds me of the show "Wings". There was a character on there, Faye, who'd been married three times (and each husband eventually had passed away), and all of her husbands were named George. They had a lot of fun with that aspect of her past on the show :p.

I'm with you in finding the idea a little odd as well, but hey, if there's something about that name/people associated with that name that clicks for someone, then...*Shrugs*. Whatever works, I guess, right :D?

Some names were also really popular in some generations. But yeah, no I have Herman's Hermits "I'm Henry The Eighth, I Am" stuck in my head. Very fitting for the secret, too.

AYRT

That's a good point, yeah. My sister's name was INCREDIBLY common when when she was younger (and still is to some degree), so I just imagine future stories and historical records featuring a lot of people with her name :p.

But yeah, no I have Herman's Hermits "I'm Henry The Eighth, I Am" stuck in my head. Very fitting for the secret, too.

LOL, nice. Now it's in my head, too, thanks to you mentioning it :D. *Starts humming*

There's a lot of Johns and Phillips in my paternal family tree. It gets confusing at times.

Probably not that weird. You see a lot of repeats of a relatively small pool of names back then, so Henry would've known a lot of Annes, Catherines, Elizabeths, Margarets, etc.
