re: 146: I'm more a DC girl, but you're dead right--especially with long-running series like X-Men (Batman, what-have-you) where you also have to start asking whose canon? Because it's not like the long-running series are air-tight.

And then you get those... special comic book writers who tend to have selective amnesia with their own canon.

I'm more DC too, but it really goes for all comics.

Also, when you do consider those "special comic book writers" it makes it even harder to keep the timeline/canon of the movie exactly like the comics, because chances are everything is going to be retconned in the next big ~~crisis~~ event (which seem to be coming every year now)
