Yay, recs! ♥ ♥ ♥ Fantasy Hollyoaks is so huge, it's nice to have somewhere to start. And, though I've not the time to read anything properly at the moment, at a glace it looks like what you've recced here is just the sort of thing I was after (I'm especially looking forward to Voyeurism, and fizz and mojo5000's stuff)! Thankyou so much!
... I don't suppose, while we're here and all, that you know of anything good focusing on Craig during the year apart? I've not come across anything set then but it's got so much potential. XP

Um, now that you mention it, I can't place the frame either. I've seen it before, I know that, but I can't think where in the show.
... I've just had a quick poke around, and those outfits are the same ones they were wearing when they first slept together, aren't they? Perhaps it was a promotional picture taken then? Sorry for being a complete lack of help - you've got me wondering too, now!

When I first watched it, it just hit me, that scene. It's so damn effective. And awesome. And hot. And brilliant. And unexpected from the beginning, yet not OOC at all.
I think my favourite scene is one of those post-Reveal, although how can you not love them all? *g*

Also, the airport episode - easily one of the most heartbreaking things in a long time. <3 (OH AND. So stop me. Anytime you want. Stop me. I think I melted and died and then revived myself just to watch it a million more times *grins* <333.)

My friends don't really get it either... *sigh* I'm thankful for LJ (and YT) every day now ;P
The Airport episode... so upsetting, and yet so well... so inevitable, I think. Neither of them were ready for it. I felt so sorry for Craig... and just seeing them both be heartbroken... oh, the pain! :P And that "stop me" scene? CRAIG MELTS; I MELTED. It's kind of beautiful :)

There's a few "suggestive" promo pictures that help to "fill in" what we saw on Screen, but yes, it's from McDean day.

I did want to rewatch the videos the day after and I went over my favorite parts again, but rewatching parts over and over and not being able to figure out where the picture came from was tedious and kind of exhasperating.

I think it was part of the promo stuff for it all. I mean, this is a show that plays at 6.30pm on weekdays, before the watershed, so there's only so much they can show. I think the pictures are meant to fill in what happened, make it definite that they slept together, and that Craig was the aggressor.

I don't recall much about there, even though there is a helluva lot of potential, like you said. A lot of the fics talk about it, but there's nothing really focusing on that... although TBH, I'm not too sure what you could say about it. If you're a fic writer, I'd love to know what you'd do with it?

I love the way you focus on the interactions between them, moving between playful moments and the quieter, more intimate ones, and the internal responses are just as satisying. The characterisations are solid, and the little details, like lying head-to-toe in bed in "All Our Money on Flights", and kisses that cause them to "both keep their eyes closed in order to taste a little better", just add such a wonderful touch. It's like what you say below - we never really saw much of them being a couple on the show, but you've done a really nice job of taking what we do see and giving us a feel of what their dynamic as a couple might be like.
So yes, for your first fics, I'd say you're off to a pretty good start. ♥
FH is... weird. I mean, it's great that there is a place for the community, but as a fic archive, it's so not what I'm used to (although it is still easier to navigate than jplovescraig, at least). No summaries, no labelling, no con-crit or betaing, and by far the most first person fics I've ever seen in one place (which is not to say there's anything wrong with writing in the first person, just that I've never seen so much of it before). The lack of betaing and con-crit is what really bothers me - there are so many great ideas there that are let down by sloppy editing, and a lot of the writers (or, those few that I've had a look at since signing up) suffer from the same sort of mistakes. It makes me want to offer to beta a lot, but I get the feeling that might come off as rude in that environment. As you say, :/

Thanks for taking the time to find these. :) I rarely write fic myself, but, to be honest, I'm sorely tempted at the moment. Craig fascinates me, and there is so much I could do with that year... I guess I'm kind of fascinated by the way they are - friendly one minute, 'more than friendly' the next ;P I love that playful edge they still have, and when I watched the SE, I got the impression that even though they loved eachother, they were still best friends. jplovescraig is ony difficult in the sense that - and I don't want to sound bitchy here but it is what it is - I'm not a fan of a certain writer's stuff, and she has absolutely flooded the comm. There is good fic burried in there, but I got really frustrated flicking through page after page of the same few writers. FA at least lets you look at one writer at a time.
