110. I'm not really sick of Depp so much as I'm sick of Burton thinking everything is cooler if you put it in sharp monochrome, and make it as Hot Topic as possible. He's repetitive to the point of nausea. But then, I think he'd implode if he couldn't cast his fiancee and best buddy in every goddamn thing he does.

144. It's actually a fairly good dub. But, the VAs did take a few episodes to adjust to the roles, and the trailer is unfortunately horrendous. And most people do judge based on trailers. Though, I always find that to be a mistake (Thank you, InuYasha trailer, for making me think the dub wouldn't suck horribly. you filthy liar).

THIS. I wouldn't care about Depp being the Hatter if the film wasn't being made by Tim Burton. I think Depp would make a decent Hatter, if anyone but Tim Burton was the one actually making the film.

Seriously. Isn't everyone over Johnny Depp being in ALL TIM BURTON'S MOVIES, yet? I like Johnny Depp. And sometimes I even like Tim Burton, but overused, much?

I'm waiting on buying it, because from the trailer and first episode, the voices really sucked. I really like having dubs so I can listen while I do other stuff so that sucked for me. I saw the second episode and it wasn't as bad as the first, or maybe I got used to it. I think because I'm used to English speakers to not have such high voices and Tamaki's vice also sounded strained or forced or something. It's like when I read the fansubs I pictured it in English differently, there was just too much dissonance for me.

It's funny though that in Spanish subs the voices actually seem to be Spanish to me, the pitches and stuff are more what I'm used to when hearing Spanish speakers than English, so that when I saw a Soul Eater Spanish sub, there were moments I thought I was hearing Spanish quite clearly.

Anyway I just wanted to explain why I thought the dub sucked the moment I heard it.

Though you're right about judging from trailers, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi didn't pick the best instances of Haruhi talking to use in my opinion, but I really love the dub.

The trailer and first episode do suck, unfortunately. Even episode two isn't all that great. But by episode four or five, you can tell they're trying to REALLY get into their characters, and for the most part, they do a pretty damn good job of it.

If you don't want to buy it just yet, I think Funimation has the entire first half (first 13 episodes) streaming on their site~

Also. Outtakes. Watch them. Even if you hate the cast. XD
