Am I one of the few who really don't want a Good Omens movie? I've read the book so many times, no movie could make good on it. And you know the hardcore fans (excluding me - I'm just a reader XD) would nitpick to hell and back. It'd be too hard to keep everyone happy... and I would prolly disagree no matter what the casting of Aziraphale, Crowley, and the Horsepersons.

To be quite honest, the movie could be the book pretty much word for word and people would still find something to bitch about.

True, very true. But for me I meant more that it's such a well-loved and well-loved book I've developed very, very fixed imagery, voices etc. for the characters and places. It's not like I'd be all 'the casting was crap! They got it wrong!' so much as... reluctant to change my mental take on something I already love so much. I guess I also wonder why a book's not good enough - why want a movie when you can have so much fun with it in your own head XD

See, I'd only have that problem if the film was animated, because I'm not savy with actors and so I imagine everything I read as being animated. So having a live-action version wouldn't ruin anything for me. XD

Heh. I imagine an animated Good Omens would actually be kinda rubbish if they tried to make it, so you're pretty safe!

Can't say I'm savvy with actors at all (my friends have given up naming them and just refer to them by film roles) but I have definite ideas of what the characters would look like - so no casting would ever be quite right for me.

I'd be disappointed on some level with whatever happened in a film, not gonna lie, but it'd still be awesome to see. I mean.. it's more GO, no matter how you slice it. It kind of sounds like the authors don't have the time, though, so I'm not real gung-ho on it.

I think I'd rather it not happen, but if it did I'd still be queueing up eagerly to see it (bitching all the way). My problem is that I still have Golden Compass very much in mind - I'd just finished rereading the books the day before I saw the movie, and so I was aware of EVERY LITTLE CHANGE and it was very annoying. And since I can quote GO (and cite differences between the American and the British, and if they did make a movie it hellah better be the 'D-Plan') I would be the same way. Only worse, cos I care about it XD Still, I'd prolly end up with the DVD, watching it twice a month...

I'd be doing exactly the same. I'm actually drawing on the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie. Which was... um. Yeah, terrible. But there were still some little things that made it worth it — to me. Like the soundtrack. Singing dolphins. The movie hurts me, of course, but I do own the DVD, and the soundtrack, and a poster from the movie, and I pull it out every now and again to remind myself why Adams' work is not meant to be touched by people who don't get it. XD

I just think it would be interesting to see who they would go with, honestly. And just how they would spin the film. Humor, obviously, but do they change timelines? What plot threads would be cut? How? I just.. love the canon, and it's always interesting to me to see different things done with it, I suppose. Even if I know some of the things could be hurtful.
