I almost wrote out this whole snarky reply with references to Michelangelo and Da Vinci, and then I realized what this was probably about. I'm guessing this is an indictment of people reacting poorly when asked to offer something in return for fanworks, since fanartists should be doing it for themselves and love of the craft, not kudos/comments/money/whatever.
