I wish the costumes in the photos so far didn’t look so idk, store bought? But I’m probably going to watch it for the curiosity and the nostalgia.

Hahaha so one of my fellow cosplayers showed some set photos the other day, and another cosplayer chimed in with "Hey are those costumes made of Jo-Ann's Kona cotton?" and ... I think that is one of the most hilarious-yet-niche things I've heard in ages. :D

But yeah, I'll probably watch a bit out of curiosity. Like any remake/reboot - if it's bad, we still have the old one.

I've made PPG costumes for clients out of Kona, so it's a valid choice, but I would fucking die if they actually were.

Yeah, Kona has some good qualities and all but... it also kinda has a reputation, so I totally laughed my head off.

And I mean, there are definitely worse choices. They could have decided to go less "authentic to the source" and more "make it fancier" by using that crushed stretch velvet... :D

1. How hot is Professor X gonna be? (I need to know!!! Are we going Riverdale here a la Skeet Ulrich or should I just prepare myself for disappointment?)

2. I hope Ms. Bellum gets more than just her body and hair shown, unless it's all in shadow and she's pulling the strings to the mayor (who is still just as foolish as he was in cartoons). I just want her to get some recognition! (Although clearly child me could put enough together to gather she was the only smart/reasonable person in the room 3/4 times). I hope she's not just "sexy".

But should it NOT look cheap, really? I mean... That's a remake of a kids show with a dumb-at-first-glance/snarky kind of humour and they're basically girls gone superheroes so... I don't think bad materials are necessarily a bad choice? (Ugh, I suck at explaining!)
