I haven't seen it, but this is a very relatable secret.

I feel this way about The Losers. I wish there was more.

It doesn't really have any bearing for the secret, but if you are curious I don’t mind answering. It’s not a canon ship. He is from Soviet and the current world champion in chess, she is the up and coming American star. He beats her two times in a row, and she starts to see him as a kind of white whale. The final is about their third game. Though they don’t have much dialogue, the actors have great chemistry, and there some very fine acting too. It has sparked quite a bit of fics about them, second only to the main canon ship in the show. There’s a lot in it that pushes my buttons like the age difference, cultural differences, tons of angst, uneven power balances, and a lot of fun tension due to two very different personalities. Also great potential and some fics where his wife joins in on the fun.

I get that there is a lot there that is what people really don’t want, but it works for me. And, as I said, the quality is generally very well-written.

I enjoyed the series, but yeah, her story feels concluded to me. I guess an anthology style series is possible, but I don't know what direction it'd take. More chess-themed plots? Following a minor character?
