It's like the reverse of the original Trek movie pattern. If they do in fact make a 4th it'll probably be terrible.

*Disclaimer: I do not actually hate the odd-numbered TOS films, but I do see why people tend to prefer the even-numbered ones.

the third one with the sitcom Klingons is actually my fave of the classic Trek movies.
pantswarrior: Spock thinks everything is "fascinating". (fascinating)

That was actually my first Star Trek experience! Back in the ... uh I dunno what to call it, I was in the hospital but long-term so they had a classroom where we kind of had something akin to school semi-regularly. But all the normal kids would have been going on summer break, so they gave us a movie day, and for some reason this was the movie they chose. Which was a weird choice seeing as it's basically a direct continuation of the second movie, which they did not show us first.

But even though I wasn't sure what was going on, the characters and plot seemed pretty cool, so I wanted to see the rest of the movies, and turns out my dad was a fan of TOS in the day so he was supportive, hahah.

Yeah I don't have any high hopes for a 4th if they ever make it. By that metric I could end up enjoying it because I'm expecting the worst, that'd be hilarious.

I honestly can't remember my if my fave ST movies are the odd or even ones, but I did like that joke just because it was a little true?

The original pattern holds true if you included Galaxy Quest into the list. Chronologically it fits as the 10th 'Trek' movie which also pushes the first nu!Trek movie into 12th. The next movie (15th) will still most likely be terrible if it ever gets made.
pantswarrior: Seven declares that fun may commence. (fun fun fun fun)

Hahaha! Excellent reasoning. I know my last s/o would fully support Galaxy Quest being included too (and now I feel slightly bad for still never having seen it).
